On Sunday, September 13th, 1-6pm at Central Catholic High School,   100's of people came out to the 1st CCHS Oktoberfest fundraiser.  All proceeds benefit the Central Catholic Baseball & Soccer Teams.  Tickets included German style dinner (served from 2-5pm), Beer & Soft Drinks and music by Autohaus.  Reverse Raffle Drawing to win Grand Prize of $2000!!!

After all the organizing, planning and coordinating of the committee plus the numerous hours of set up, manning stations and cleanup by so many gracious volunteers, there was a lot of fun had by all along with plenty of raffle winners taking home TVs, gift baskets and cash.

But most of all, people took home many memories of a great group of people coming together to raise money for two great organizations.   A big German "Prost" to Darcy Thull and Karen Ferguson for pulling this together for the two organizations.

On behalf of the Central Catholic Soccer Booster committee, I want to thank all of you for your support today at our Oktoberfest funding raising event.  We sincerely appreciated your contributions to the soccer program and the many volunteer hours so many of you gave to make the event successful.  I promise the money raised today will be put to good use!

Although there were many helpers, I would like to acknowledge several people for their contributions.  First and foremost, I want to recognize Darcy Thull.  As our fund raising chairperson, she worked countless hours to bring this event to life.  This was a huge undertaking.  It required a lot of time, effort and organization.  We think she did an amazing job, so thank you Darcy!

I also want to acknowledge people that worked during the entire event with little or no breaks.  Kris Yanalitis and her family sold and distributed our spirit wear.  Todd Lenhart managed the flow of contributions.  Tim and Diane Murray managed the reverse raffle.  Tom Gemmell  took pictures and folks like Patti Gemmell, Sandee Moffatt, Samantha Shearer, Larry Cersosimo and Tom McManus managed various booths throughout the entire program.

Finally, a special thank you to Kevin Sproul for providing the beer and to Mike Clark for being a fantastic emcee!  I know there were others that worked very hard today and if I failed to acknowledge you, please forgive me.  But know that I appreciated everyone’s participation.

Once final numbers are tallied, I will share the results.  Thanks again for your support!

Warm regards,

Brian Murray, Booster Club President
