The standard of soccer has improved dramatically in this area over the past few years and we are simply attempting to do what is necessary to keep up with the current trend. The staff will not play favorites. Each player will be selected on merit in order to give us the best chance of winning. All Freshmen not selected to the Junior Varsity or Varsity teams will have the opportunity to dress and play on the Freshman team provided the size of the Freshman team does not exceed 30 players.
IT'S ABOUT MORE THAN THE GAME
A relatively new sport at Central, soccer has achieved a level of success recently that has brought a great deal of positive recognition to the players and school. Not only does the success of the soccer program bode well for the future, but it also provides a great deal of entertainment and excitement for the student body, faculty, and administration.
The program has entered the WPIAL playoffs nearly every year, since coach Morini has taken over coaching the boys.
The coaching staff at Central Catholic is committed to excellence and playing the “Right Way” every season. Therefore we expect the same level of commitment from our players. If you are unsure as to your current ability level we would recommend attendance at the summer conditioning sessions to gain a feel for the level.
